| The FUNDACIÓN METRÓPOLI is a not-for-profit organization that aspires to contribute, from an international perspective, to the innovation and development of cities and regions.
To meet its objectives and assist in the development of its programmes and activities, the Fundación Metrópoli has established strategic partnerships with: Eisenhower Fellowships, University of Pennsylvania School of Design, Urban Land Institute, Partner for Livable Communities, International Society of City and Regional Planners, Arab Urban Development Institute, Taller de Ideas, and an International Advisory Council comprising 45 urban experts.
The Fundación Metrópoli coordinates the Proyecto CITIES initiative: this constitutes a joint effort of investigation and interchange of experiences of 20 cities in 5 continents. Participating cities include: Boston, Curitiba, Dubai, Dublin, Philadelphia, Shanghai, Santiago de Chile, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Toronto etc and its main universities. The objective of this initiative is to identify the competitive urban advantages of each participating city and its ?Cluster of Excellence?
Using the methodology and experience of Proyecto CITIES, Fundación Metrópoli has developed the CITIES Laboratory
Proyecto CITIES
Transformative Projects. The Fundación Metrópoli, through agreements of collaborations with cities, regions and the private sector, develops programmes that identify and define strategic projects for the future. These projects are based on the urban components of excellence of the city or region and seek to endow the city with greater competitive advantage.
Eco-CITIES
The commitment to sustainability leads to the application of new environmental criteria and design for urban development. The Fundación Metrópoli has accumulated extensive experiences in the field of designing eco-communities and bioclimatic architecture..
Spaces for the New Economy
The Fundación Metrópoli has researched and advised the development of creative spaces and innovations at an international level like the one-north project of Singapore and for Dublin Digital Hub. Cities and regions who wish to ?plug in? to the new economy can take advantage of the ?know how? of the Fundación Metrópoli.
Knowledge Partner
The Fundación Metrópoli, via its CITIES Laboratory programme, is able to participate as Strategic Partners of public institutions and private sectors for the development of innovative projects and initiatives.
