Edouard Fernández came to the firm in 1992 and is now responsible for the development of projects in Barcelona and the Costa del Sol, Spain with a particular emphasis on managing a €183 million residential fund recently formed between Hines and CalPers. During his career with Hines, he has been significantly involved in the expansion of more than million square feet of commercial and residential real estate properties valued at more than € 900 million. Mr. Fernandez has extensive experience in project finance, marketing, design and urban planning. As a general manager, he directed the development of the non-retail portion of the Diagonal Mar mixed-use project in Barcelona that included a Regional Retail Center, five residential phases with 1,400 apartments, three hotels, three office buildings and the 42-acre Park Diagonal Mar. He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Studies from Boston College in 1983 and a Master of Real Estate Development from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1992.
