Santiago Mercadé is CEO of Layetana from 1989, Real Estate company founded in 1964 with seat in Barcelona.
Layetana is one of the 10 Spanish greater Real Estate promoters, with offices in Barcelona, Majorca and Valencia. Layetana at this moment is developing Real Estate projects of
offices, houses thought for elderly people and other many residential and corporative projects addressed to different segments of population with a value of more than 700 million euros. As a recent outstanding project, Layetana promoted the Agbar Tower, the emblematic building located at the new area of Glorias, in Barcelona, which will be the new headquarters of the Water Society of Barcelona (Grupo Agbar).
Santiago Mercadé was President of the Urban Land Institute Barcelona?s District Council and Member of its European Executive Committee. He is also Member of the Advisory Council of the International Real Estate Academic Initiative of the Harvard University.
After graduating in 1980 in Economics in ESADE (Barcelona), in 1982 he finished a MBA program shared between the Hautes Études Commerciales (LEE) in Paris and the New York University.
