Barcelona Born in Barcelona, Spain in 1964. Attorney, obtained his law degree from the Unviversity of Barcelona. Pursued graduate studies in the US obtaining a LL.M. in Georgetown University and an MBA in Esade.
Has practiced as a M&A lawyer for 11 years in New York and Barcelona. In 1998 he opens a boutique M&A firm in Barcelona.
In October 2001, Javier puts together an investment group leaded by Deutsche Bank and acquires Hovisa, a real estate company which among other assets owned the Hotel Arts in Barcelona. Javier became principal and was appointed CEO of Hovisa.
In February 2004, Javier is appointed partner and Managing Director for Spain and Portugal of Patron Capital Partners, a private equity real estate group based in London.
In July 2006, Javier leads the sale of Hotel Arts for $538 million, becoming the largest single hotel transaction in Europe and the largest single real estate transaction in Spain.
In August 2006, Javier launches MERIDIA CAPITAL, a €150 million private equity real estate fund dedicated exclusively to branded hospitality.
