Juan Antonio Cantalapiedra was born in Valladolid, Spain, in 1957.

Bachelor in Law in the Universidad de Valladolid, founded a Juridical Office specialized in Commercial Law and Urbanism.

Nowadays he is studying a Master’s Degree in Universidad de DEUSTO (Business Administration Master’s Degree) and working as a Lawyer in the development of other business projects.

After being Founder and President of URBESPACIOS, he has been in charge of running many urban projects as Coto de Macairena in Granada and the eastern part of Valladolid (special mention in the announcement of Prices “Las Mejores Promociones Inmobiliarias en España, 2006) both based in the combination of sustainable urbanism and innovative formulas of leisure, tourism and culture.

URBESPACIOS’ projects suggest some answers to the current debate related to the growing formulas of cities, the integration of urban centres in its natural environment, the concept of sustainability and the community structure with the collaboration of the architects Alonso-Balaguer, Richard Rogers or Arata Isozaki.
