He was born in Bandirma in 1956. After graduating from high school in his hometown, he attended Bosphorus University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Master of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering. In 1981, he continued his education on Environmental Engineering at University of Washington and upon coming back to Turkey, he worked as a consultant engineer at NATO Infrastructure Department during his military service. Prior to founding Yapi Teknik Construction Company in 1986 where he had been the Chief Executive Officer and founder partner until 1992, he worked at several projects in Saudi Arabia as a Project Manager for three years. He then worked as a Coordinator and Executive Director in Ihlas Holding’s Housing, Land Development, Industrial and Commercial Construction Projects between 1992-1997. In 1997, he was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ihlas Real Estate Investment Trust which had a successful initial public offering in 1999. He is the member of international institutions such as ULI, NAREIT and founder member of GYODER. He speaks fluent English and he is married with two children.
