Barcelona Meeting Point

Born on the 10th of March 1953 in Barcelona, he is married with 4 children. He graduated as a Lawyer-Economist from the Universidad de Deusto and with a masters in Law from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.

In june 2007 he was appointed as General Manager of “la Caixa” but prior to this he was Member of the Board at Banco Sabadell (2002), Managing Director of Business and Corporations at the Santander Central Hispano and Member of the Directors Commission (1999-2002). From 1994 until 1998 he was the Managing Director of Commercial Banking at the Banco Central Hispano and member of the Directive Commission. He was Area Director in Catalonia for the Banco Central Hispano(1992-94), International Director of the Banco Hispano Americano (1980-1991) and Director of Programs at the Ministry of European Comunities Relations (1978-1980)
He has held other posts including C.E.O of Ibersecurities, Advisor at Seguros La Estrella and of BancSabadell Vida, Advisor at CEPSA, External Advisor at the Corporación Uniland and C.E.O. of the Commission of Politics and Economy at the Chamber of Commerce Barcelona.
