Caio Luiz Carvalho is President of São Paulo Turismo S/A, the agency for tourism promotion and events of the city of São Paulo.

He is a member of the Sao Paulo candidacy committee for the World Football Championship in 2014.

He leaded, for 10 years, the Country’s tourism strategy, being National Secretary for Tourism and Services, Embratur’s President and Minister of Sports and Tourism (1992 – 2002) under the Presidencies of Itamar Franco and Fernando Henrique Cardoso.

He is a Professor at the Getulio Vargas Foundation and a member of the Anhembi-Morumbi University Advisory Board. He has been President of the Executive Committee of the World Tourism Organization (OMT), linked to the UNO.

He has coordinated the book “Ecotourism and Environmental Education – Dialogue and Interdisciplinary Practice”, he is also the author of “Destination Brazil – New Ways for Tourism” and has been the organizer of the publication “ Debate and Proposals for Tourism in Brazil” which belongs to the Ebape/FGV’s “Tourism and Innovation Observatory”.
