Jean-Charles Decaux, 39, joined in 1989 the family firm to develop out of home media in the countries in southern Europe.
In 1991, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of JCDecaux Spain. In 1994, he became Executive Vice-President, responsible for developing business activities in southern Europe, Asia and South America.
When the JCDecaux Group acquired Avenir in 1999, he was appointed Chairman and CEO of Avenir, of JCDecaux Airport and JCDecaux Artvertising.
Jean-Charles Decaux and Jean-François Decaux, Co-Chief Executive Officers, alternate as Chairman of the Executive Board for periods of one year.
