Mark Weintraub is founder and principal of Mark Weintraub Architecture & design LLP (MWA+D), a boutique architectural and urban design practice based in London. Mark has over 25 years of experience as a design practitioner in the United States, United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Asia and the Middle East and this is reflected in the profile of the work his firm is currently undertaking with projects in London, as well as regionally in the UK, Belgium, France and United States. Mark has particular expertise in the design of complex, mixed use, urban and high-rise developments and urban designed masterplans.

Prior to the formation of MWA+D in 2001 Mark had a joint venture practice in London with the Chicago based firm of DeStefano and Partners from 1996 to 2001 which undertook a number of landmark commissions for a discerning international clientele in the UK, Europe and Middle East.

In the years prior to this Mark ran an architectural consultancy service in Asia and the UK which was involved in a number of strategic projects in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Mainland China and London.

Formerly from 1987 to 1992 Mark was an Associate Partner with Skidmore Owings & Merrill in London engaged in the design and construction of the seminal Broadgate Development along with a number of landmark projects in the UK and Europe. Prior to his tenure in London, Mark had postings with SOM in Chicago and San Francisco.

Mark holds Bachelor of Architecture and Masters of Architecture in Urban Design degrees from Cornell University where he was a protégé of the late architectural theoretician and historian Colin Rowe. Mark has lectured extensively on Architecture in the United States, UK and Asia.

Mark is member of the Urban Land Institute Leadership group and his ULI credits inlcude; Chairman the ULI European Sustainable Development Council, member of the ULI London District Council Executive Committee, ULI Europe Policy & Practice Committee and ULI Europe Steering Committee. Mark was formerly Caretaker Chair and subsequently Deputy Chair of the ULI UK District Council. He has also contributed to ULI European Policy Forums on; ‘European Spatial Planning’, ‘Green Buildings’, ‘Delivering London’s Olympic Legacy’, ‘Catalysts for Urban Regeneration’, ‘Value Capture Funding’, ‘Affordable Housing’ and was a member of the ULI’s Advisory Services Panel to Duisburg Germany. Mark was also reviewer for the green building design section of the recent ULI publication ‘Green Office Buildings, A Practical Guide to Development’.
