Oriol Nel.lo is the Secretary for Territorial Planning of the Department of Public Works of the Generalitat of Catalonia. PhD and Professor of Geography at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has been director of the Institute for Metropolitan Studies in Barcelona. It has been a guest professor at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, the London School of Economics, Instituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia, the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, the Istituto Superior de Ciencias do Trabalho e da Empresa in Lisbon, and the University de Provence. He has written numerous books and articles on territorial organization, dynamics and urban transformations. During the VI term he was deputy of the Parliament of Catalonia.
