Sergio Urbani is Director of Fondazione Housing Sociale (FHS), a foundation set up by Fondazione Cariplo – one of the leading Italian banking foundations - with the mission of developing a social housing program focussed on the application of ethical finance to housing needs. One of the key achievements of the program was the launch of the ethical Real estate fund “Abitare Sociale 1”, which raised € 85 mln from institutional investors, and is currently developing approximately 700 dwellings of low income housing through PPP schemes in the region of Lombardy.
Recent relevant experience include the advisory to the city council of Milan, a task executed by FHS as junior advisor to Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A., in the process of launching a real estate found dedicated to the refurbishment and disposal of a portfolio of 76 buildings of mixed use for a total value of approximately € 250 mln.
During its previous experience at ABN AMRO, Sergio Urbani was actively involved in the origination and execution of a large number of advisory projects encompassing structuring of funds, acquisitions, sale procedures, Joint Ventures mainly in the real estate, utility, transportation and telecommunication sectors. His assignments have included acting for leading public and private companies.
Graduated in Business Economics at the Bocconi University of Milan, he previously worked for Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance and Bankers Trust International.
