Mr. Lieberman is a Vice-Chairman of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), United Kingdom Executive Committee and a member of ULI European Retail and Entertainment Council. Until recently, Mr Lieberman was a Managing Director of Real Estate Finance EMEA at UBS Investment Bank (“UBS REF”) and member of the UBS REF EMEA & APAC Commitment Committees. Mr. Lieberman has 24 years of real estate industry experience, in the US, and in Europe, where he spent the last 13 years of his career and provided debt and equity capital for European property transactions totalling in excess of €8Billion in 8 countries. Prior to UBS, Mr. Lieberman was a Joint Managing Director of Hypo Real Estate Investment Banking Limited for several years and prior to Hypo, Mr. Lieberman was an Executive Director of the Global Real Estate Finance Group of Lehman Brothers. Mr. Lieberman’s experience ranges from international business development, equity investments, mezzanine debt and senior loan origination and structuring to asset management and workout of non-performing loans and REO portfolios. In the late 1990s, Mr. Lieberman was a Principal of the Praedium Funds, a group of opportunistic property investment funds associated with Credit Suisse First Boston (“CSFB”). During his tenure at CSFB/Praedium he completed a number of U.S. and European real estate investments. Mr. Lieberman joined CSFB in 1998 from General Electric Capital Corporation (“GECC”), where he founded, developed and executed the business plan for property lending & investments in the Nordic Region.
Mr. Lieberman earned a B.A. in Economics (Cum Laude) from Tufts University.
