Reus, Spain
Born in Reus in 1956, he is married and parent of a son and a daughter. At professional level he is an executive staff member of a bank, and he is University graduate on contemporary history. He has strong links with his hometown associations, and has been town councilor on Citizen Relationship of the Reus town council (1987-1991), councilor on Culture (1991-1995), and Mayor of Reus since 1999. He has been deputy member of the Spanish Parliament (1993-2000) and deputy member of the Catalan Parliament (2003-2006), with special activity in the budget and finances commissions of both chambers.
Nowadays he is member of the National Executive Comission of the Catalan Socialist Party and vicepresident of the Catalan Cities Federation.
