Barcelona Meeting Point is totally committed to deepening the real estate relationship between the Arab world and the Western countries. This initiative started two years ago when BMP delivered a Symposium session on “The Gulf Countries and Europe: Bi-Directional Property Investments”. From there on, BMP’s dedication towards acting as a bond between both cultures has increased steadily. After several trips and contacts with different leaders and authorities from the Arab world, the BMP’s Symposium hosted last year the 1st Euro-Arab Real Estate Conference, with an important success. This year, the Conference will take place again and it will be organized by the Urban Land Institute, a world leading real estate institution based in Washington whose branch for Europe, the Middle East and Africa is in London chaired by William Kistler.
The 2nd Euro-Arab Real Estate Conference list of topics is already shaped, with several sessions confirmed, although some more may be added in the coming weeks. The Conference will start with a general presentation on the current situation on the EU and on MENA. Afterwards, the following session will analyze where investors from the MENA are looking for opportunities and why. Before lunch, it is tentatively programmed the session "Transforming the City. Large scale urban regeneration - lessons from Saudi Arabia", as cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are undergoing a dramatic transformation, and a range of ambitious projects are changing the country. Case-study presentations will allow other cities to learn from the Saudi ones. In the afternoon, speakers will study the great urban development transformations in the Gulf countries. The last confirmed session will analyze in depth the cultural differences between the Arab world and the Western countries that must be taken into account in order to successfully do business between both civilizations.
