The ULI will organize a Conference on ?Urban Tourism and its consequences in the real estate industry?

The ULI's Conference will take place on October 25th
The prestigious association Urban Land Institute collaborates one more year with Barcelona Meeting Point organizing its own Conference on the 25th of October. This Conference will be focused on ?Urban Tourism and its consequences in the real estate industry? since tourism has become a vital component in urban economies, an engine for its regeneration, job creation and investment. The ULI?s Conference will have several sessions such as ?The City as Destination: How Urban Tourism Changes the Face of Cities?, where a panel of panel of distinguished mayors will share the story behind how urban tourism is helping/supporting/driving the transformation of their cities and the opportunities this creates for investors and developers. The session ?Olympian Dreams: Leveraging Sports, Culture and Commerce as Catalyst? will examine the impact of major new amenities and infrastructure, including stadiums and convention centers to museums and waterfront redevevelopments. The session ?Show me the Money!: Reaping the Benefits of Urban Tourism?, speakers will explore the viability of developing large urban tourism projects and will share lessons learned and mistakes made when undertaking such projects. The ULI Conference will also have a session on accommodation products: how the great variety of these products?from boutique hotels to timeshares, fractional ownership, traditional hotels and cruise liners?has affected tourism. Lastly, the session ?The Planned Development: Tourism that Defies the Business Model? will analyze development business strategies for three major urban tourist destinations: Dubai, Orlando and Las Vegas.
