LA CAIXA
Founded in 1904, “la Caixa” has assets worth €410,896 million, 10.6 million customers, 5,581 branches and 27,648 employees. During the first six months of 2008, the “la Caixa” Group increases its recurring profit by 20,3% to €1,195 million. “la Caixa” controls 78% of Criteria Caixa Corp, the financial company which owns the largest portfolio of investees in Spain with a market value of €20,329 million (at June 30, 2008). The “la Caixa” welfare foundation, the leading private foundation in Spain, ranking second in Europe and fifth in the world by budget volume, assigned €400 million to social, environmental, educational and cultural programs in 2007. In 2008 it has a budget of €500 million.
During these 100 years, “la Caixa” has become the first savings bank in Spain and the third financial institution in the country. It is present in the whole of the country thanks to a network of more than 5.581 offices. The multichannels strategy adopted by “la Caixa” allows, through different channels, to attend all the entity’s clients with maximum quality in the service.
